Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Cath Lab

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The role involves providing high-quality patient care during various cardiac procedures. The work schedule includes day shifts with call requirements throughout the week.

The position is located in the cardiac cath lab in a medical facility situated in City, State.

Unit Information
  • Number of Labs: Three cath labs, a holding area for in-patients, and a radial lounge for out-patients.
  • Staff Composition: A total of 7 technical positions and 13 nursing positions, including a manager. The radial lounge consists of 5 RN positions and 1 LNA position.
  • Operational Hours: The radial lounge operates from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM, while the cardiac cath lab is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with 24-hour call availability.
  • Equipment: Key equipment includes OCT, IVUS, Shockwave, Impella, IABP, Pacers, Rota, CSI, Opsens, Cath Works, and Penumbra.
  • EMR Systems: Utilizes Sunrise, Allscripts, and Mac Lab.
  • Patient Population: Adult patients.
Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

  • Providing direct patient care during cardiac procedures.
  • Assisting with various procedures, including left and right heart catheterizations, drug studies, TAVR, TMVR, stents, angioplasty, and more.
  • Titrating medication drips and managing critical care equipment such as Impella and IABP.
  • Maintaining a high level of patient safety and quality care throughout procedures.
Qualifications
  • Critical care experience is required.
  • Experience with Impella and IABP is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in independently titrating drips.
  • Current ACLS certification is required.
  • Active RN license is essential.
