Job description

Job Title: Lab Technician
Location: Madison Heights, MI
Work Model: On-site
Hours: M-F 8am-4:30pm
Compensation: $25.00 - $27.00/hr
Type: 12-month contract, Potential for extension or conversion to permanent
Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain all laboratory testing equipment associated with each test requirement within prescribed test parameters including light maintenance.
  • Enter samples to be tested, perform evaluation techniques and ratings per established test methods and use a computer for data entry and report generation.
  • Collect and record data accurately according to quality standards (standard checks/verifications).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements
  • Associates degree (or Bachelor's) in a science or technical field preferred; minimum 1-2 years lab experience.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be detailed oriented, organized, self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Must be capable of working on multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously within a demanding environment.
  • Strong math skills as well as excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Experience with basic tool manipulation including mixing equipment, lab glassware, calipers and other standard lab tools.
  • The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day.
  • Must be able to lift parts in and out of chambers up to 20-30lbs.
