Job Overview:

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a science related field.
  • Interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to analyze and interpret data using various software tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Ability to follow instructions/methods, the ability to follow a workflow chart to its conclusion.
  • Biochemistry lab techniques including protein expression and purification.
  • Strong organization, time management, and communication skills, and the ability to successfully work in a dynamic group environment.
  • Manage daily, weekly and monthly laboratory activities, such as monitoring of equipment, periodic laboratory cleaning and managing central supply stocks/reagents, laboratory waste and general lab maintenance.
  • Document work in an electronic laboratory notebook.
  • An understanding of the safety culture including personal protective equipment and waste streams will be an expectation of this role.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with protein expression in E. coli and protein purification.
  • Experience with data entry and data management.
  • Cell culture and aseptic technique.
  • Experience preparing media recipes.
  • Experience with microbiology.
