Responsibilities

The Laboratory Technician position is responsible for providing QA/QC support for daily site operations. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, performing testing and analysis for raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, customer samples, data analysis and reporting, coordinating other inspections and/or release of material in LIMS/SAP, verifications, PMs, calibrations, troubleshooting of laboratory equipment, reagent, equipment, consumable inventory control, as well as other functions to support laboratory operations.

Primary Duties

  • Prepare standards. Record, prepare, test and track samples throughout the lab process.
  • Perform quality assurance activities to verify the capability of equipment and methods
  • Assemble, dismantle, troubleshoot, maintain, repair and calibrate analytical test equipment
  • Perform test method reviews to ensure compliance
  • Work with the lab team to complete workload and prioritize analyses to support plant operations
  • Understand and adhere to site safety rules, policies and programs
  • Assist in training of others on lab tech responsibilities when requested
  • Maintain lab areas in a clean, safe and well-organized manner
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support site operations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in non-chemistry discipline, Associate's degree, high school diploma or GED or related laboratory technician certification with experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
  • Formal training in general laboratory procedures
  • General computer experience with standard software packages, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with LIMS and GC software is highly preferred but not required
  • Experience with analytical equipment and instrumentation such as: GC, Karl Fisher, Auto-Titrators and Colorimeter preferred
