Job description

This southwest Georgia medical center, a JCAHO accredited facility, is seeking a BE/BC Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine physician to join a well-established staff which includes two physicians and three Physician Assistants. Patient care is not only provided by physicians and physician assistants, but also licensed nurses, radiology technicians, and lab personnel. This care includes treating minor injuries and illness, performing school and sports physicals, and offering laboratory and X-ray services on-site during all hours of operation.

Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Perform assessments and examinations for patients presenting to the Urgent Care Center and returning for follow-up visits
  • Provide education for patients and family members
  • Counsel patients on preventive health care and treatment plans before discharge
  • Prescribe medications as deemed appropriate
  • Refer patients as needed
  • Maintain compliance with documentation requirements

Position Details:

  • Flexible Scheduling – Option to work 7 on/7 off, three 12-hour shifts, four 10-hour shifts.
  • One Weekend Shift Per Month (Hours: Saturday 8-3, Sunday 8-12)
  • Minimal Call Requirement (One week per month to receive phone calls after hours for critical labs. These calls can be handled from home and are very rare.
  • Closed on Major Holidays (Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day)
