Job description


NOV Fluid Technology is searching for a Fluid Lab Technician to support field operations and the R&D laboratory located in Conroe, TX. The successful candidate will work with the Fluid Technology team and be responsible for the day to day receiving, testing, reporting, and handling of fluid projects.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Perform lab testing, analytical reporting and maintenance and handling of lab equipment.
  2. Support internal operations by answering questions related to projects.
  3. Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and integrity of the sample.
  4. Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment, including recalibration of equipment.
  5. Assist the R&D Engineering group and the Fluid Technology Manager with product and system development.
  6. Maintain compliance with the latest API laboratory requirements.
  7. Maintain environmental compliance related to chemical handling and disposal.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Provide laboratory and technical assistance to NOV groups engaged in product and equipment development.
  2. Interface with customers regarding laboratory functions, capabilities, and test results.

JOB ANALYSIS:
  1. Experience or education in drilling fluids analysis.
  2. Background in rig operations. Field experience is a plus.
  3. Knowledge of API RP 13B-1, 13B-2, 13C, and 13I is highly desirable but not required.
