Job description

Title: Lab Technician- Product Engineering & Quality
Location: Remote
Duration: 6+ months contract to hire
Compensation: $28
Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.
Lab Technician- Product Engineering & Quality
  • Prepares test samples and specimens and develops efficient testing protocols and procedures.
  • Conducts and documents tests on finished and prototype products in accordance with established test methods and QC specifications.
  • Collaborates with engineering on new product designs and provides technical feedback to support product improvement.
  • Benchmarks products against industry standards and competitor offerings.
  • Maintains accurate project logs, lab notebooks and necessary QC and R&D records.
  • Works closely with management staff to establish realistic task completion dates.
  • Maintains a clean and safe lab in accordance with all local and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Assists in implementing new procedures and PPE requirements for new products introduced to the site.
  • Reports all safety violations to the Manager to ensure the working environment is free from safety hazards.
  • Maintains equipment, calibrations and records.
  • Manages material disposal with EHS.
  • Trains new hired and maintains SOPs for lab operations.
  • Utilizes lab scheduling/project software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • Technical certification or associate degree (may be required in some areas).
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in product testing and lab operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific or engineering discipline or an advanced technical certification.
  • 3+ years of hands-on problem solving/troubleshooting roles.
  • Experience in an A2LA Certified Lab.
  • Familiarity with ISO 17025 methods and certification processes.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, along with training and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
