Job description

Job Summary
Coordinates Eagleville Hospital's laboratory services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Trains all Medical Laboratory Technician/Technologist
and/or other Lab personnel.
2. Maintains all records relating to quality control i.e. standards and controls.
3. Maintains Lab equipment and supplies to insure accurate/proper performance.
4. Special projects as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
5. Performs phlebotomies.
6. Knowledge of all lab testing, EKG's, and record keeping.
7. Reports any infectious disease as listed by the Department of Health to the
Health Services manager.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
1. Other duties as assigned.
2. Comply with current hospital safety and infection control policies.
3. Attends recommended committee meetings.
4. Special projects as assigned by the Director of Nursing.
Customer Service and Satisfaction
1. Answer telephone calls promptly and professionally, stating to the caller
"Eagleville Hospital" your name and department.
2. Assisting patients, family members and other customers with concern and
empathy.
3. Respect patient confidentiality and privacy.
4. Communicate with all customers in a respectful and courteous manner.

Qualifications
1. Must have knowledge of laboratory procedures, accreditation, proficiency testing
and quality control.
2. Experience in performing EKG's helpful.
3. Knowledge of computer applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
4. Medical terminology required.
5. Knowledge of Lab panels.
Physical Requirements
1. Occasional light lifting and carrying of less than 20 pounds,
2. Walking between buildings on campus.
3. Unimpaired vision and hearing;
4. Minimal reaching and bending.
5. Manual dexterity.
Work Environment
