Bloom Fertility is actively seeking a Medical Technologist / Andrologist to join our team. Under the direct supervision of the Lab Director, the Medical Technologist / Andrologist is responsible for providing laboratory services and working directly with patients, clinical staff, and laboratory personnel. This position will support the daily operations of the Andrology Laboratory and provide assistance to the IVF Laboratory as needed. Responsibilities include scheduling, receiving and processing specimens, maintaining safe laboratory practices, completing documentation related to Andrology laboratory procedures, and supporting compliance with applicable local, state, federal, and accreditation requirements.


Responsibilities include:

  • Perform laboratory services in accordance with established clinical, laboratory, and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure proper patient and specimen identification, chain of custody, accuracy, and timely completion of laboratory testing.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, and maintaining laboratory supplies and inventory.
  • Maintain quality control and quality assurance activities in accordance with laboratory policies and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with maintaining laboratory documentation, records, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support other laboratory personnel and assist in the IVF Laboratory as needed.
  • Perform all duties associated with the Andrology Laboratory, including but not limited to:
    • Semen analysis, including concentration, motility, viability, and morphology.
    • Processing semen specimens for assisted reproductive technology procedures (IVF) and intrauterine insemination (IUI) preparation.
    • Semen cryopreservation, storage, inventory management, and warming procedures.
    • Ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies.
    • Receiving, sending, tracking, and dispositioning cryopreserved specimens.
    • Donor specimen ordering, receiving, storage, processing, and reporting.
    • Media preparation.
    • Daily laboratory start-up and shut-down procedures.
    • Daily, weekly, and monthly laboratory maintenance.
    • Accurate data entry and documentation in paper records, laboratory systems, and the electronic medical record.
    • Maintaining safe laboratory practices, including the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), sterile technique, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM–2:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Occasional weekend and holiday coverage may be required.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution.
  • MLT or MT/MLS certification through ASCP or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Tissue culture experience and/or semen processing experience is a plus.
  • Previous experience in an Andrology, IVF, or clinical laboratory environment is preferred.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
