Job description


Welcome to Grayson College. Grayson College is in the heart of Grayson County and provides a vital link for higher education.  GC offers small classes for personalized instruction, affordable tuition, caring, professional faculty, and the convenience of day, evening or online classes. The college serves approximately 5,000 students annually. Welding Lab Assistant- Provides technical assistance to students either in a classroom or laboratory setting and assists with teaching students according to established policies and procedures under the supervision of the welding instructor.   
The rate for this position is $20.00 per hour.
 Responsibilities :
  • 60%    Provides group instruction and one-on-one tutoring; communicates and explains familiar and new concepts to students with diverse backgrounds and varying levels of welding skills.
  • 35%    Assists students in the use of equipment.
  • 5%      Keeps the lab clean and organized.

  3. Demonstrates strong critical thinking and problem solving skills.

Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • One year work experience as a welder or welding degree/certificate required.
  • Previous experience as a teacher or lab assistant is preferred.
