Job Summary
The QA Lab Technician II will perform various quality systems and testing activities for manufacturing operation, including raw material and process fluid testing, quality audits, plant trials, and quality lab maintenance and organization.
Essential Duties

  • Review real-time quality

  • Generate reports

  • Perform chemical and physical property tests

  • Communicate with production operators and leaders

  • Audit lab and manufacturing processes

  • Maintain the plant MSDS database

  • Order routine lab supplies

  • Maintain lab calibrations and documentation

  • Assure all activities are performed safely

  • Routine testing of manufacturing fluids and critical raw materials.

  • Coordinate documentation, investigation, and testing of customer complaint material and other production line off-quality issues

  • Conduct routine audits of identified production activities and finished goods to monitor performance of plant quality systems

  • Specify, procure, and maintain all quality lab operating supplies. Maintain hardcopy and electronic MSDS's for the plant

  • Conduct and coordinate calibration and maintenance of quality lab testing equipment. Conduct required test instrument measurement studies

  • Create and maintain filing system for identified shift production reports. Generate required reports for product and quality system performance

  • Assist in the design and execution of plant trials and other experiments. Actively participate in process-improvement activities.

  • Utilize and maintain various computer-based programs to store and analyze process and product data for degree of stability and conformance to standards

  • Conduct environmental water sampling monthly

  • Conduct plant chlorine water sampling daily

  • Conduct state water sampling quarterly.

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications Required

  • H.S. Diploma OR General Education Degree (GED) with a minimum of 2+ years of relevant experience

Qualifications Preferred

  • Associate's Degree in Science or Engineering coupled with 2+ years of demonstrated experience as a lab technician in a manufacturing environment

Base salary and/or rate of pay ranges listed are exclusive of fringe benefits and potential bonuses.
