Job description

As a manufacturing associate, you will play a valuable role within the lab department where you will be testing and inspecting material to confirm the quality of our product before shipping to the client as this is the finishing stage of the process.

In this position, you will be preparing material for lab inspections as well as testing these materials using saws, lathes, and grinders by interpreting plans, specifications or drawings. A successful associate will be responsible for setting up and operating machines safely within the standard operating procedures, detecting faulty equipment, defective material, and preparing etching solutions to be used to inspect the product. In addition, you will need to demonstrate independence and motivation along with effective teamwork skills with an ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform minor machine maintenance
  • Mark dimensions and use correct measuring tools to cut samples
  • Operate fork trucks and cranes
  • Responsible for adherence to all safety policies, practices and procedures
  • Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, and calipers
  • Knowledge of machining operations, and material characteristics.
  • Request cutbacks and resample on material samples having unacceptable structure.
  • Refer questionable structures to quality control metallurgist.
  • Maintain macro inspection and inventory reports in established forms and computer systems.
  • Responsible for receiving acid for bulk and tanks and the inspection of these tanks. Also, responsible for doing checks on acid strengths to ensure proper etching, and must measure and mix his own acids.
  • Evaluate grain size in the etched condition and evaluate the structure of nickel and steel alloy per lab instructions and specs.
  • Take photo micrograph of prepared micro and micro plate.
  • Assist and aid in routine laboratory operations and training new employees.
  • Lead and participate in standard work events, reports and meetings.
  • Learn and implement ATBS tools (VSM, Set-up and reduction etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (in addition to the Basic Qualifications)
