Job description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Testing:

  • Selection of the proper test method and equipment by review of customer drawings and industry standards.
  • Records technical information, dimensional, mechanical, and performance acquired through the use test equipment in the lab.

Reporting:

  • Assist in the evaluation of the data in accordance with the customer drawings and industry standards used.
  • Support creation of technical documentation and reports.

Lab Equipment

  • Maintain and properly clean all lab equipment.
  • Assist in scheduling calibration and routine maintenance for the lab equipment.
  • Support acquisition of lab materials, chemicals, test plates, tooling, and testing hardware.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure testing work aligns with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, DIN, ASTM, BS).
  • Support quality initiatives, including inspections and non-conformance investigations.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate lab records and documentation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  1. Associates degree (or working towards) in Engineering or related Industrial Systems discipline (preferred)
  2. Internship or placement experience in manufacturing or engineering (preferred)
  3. Basic understanding of technical drawings, Industry standards, DIN ISO, ASME, ASTM, etc.
  4. Analytical and problem-solving skills
  5. Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise
  6. Basic understanding of physical testing principles
  7. Attention to detail and quality awareness
  8. Familiarity with ASME B117 and ASTM E18
  9. Exposure to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025
