Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Position Overview

The Lab Assistant I position supports a fast-paced Clinical Toxicology Laboratory by handling and preparing patient specimens for testing. The lab performs high-complexity drug and toxicology testing on various sample types, including blood, urine, serum, oral fluid, and meconium. Training will be provided for laboratory procedures and sample preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Retrieve, prepare, and process patient specimens for testing.
  • Review specimens and test orders for accuracy.
  • Identify and properly handle unacceptable or unusual samples.
  • Maintain laboratory documentation, logs, and records.
  • Prepare laboratory reagents and materials as needed.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Follow laboratory SOPs and quality standards.
  • Support team training and maintain efficient turnaround times.
