Join our team as a Processor and play a vital role in patient care behind the scenes! We're looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, and enjoys working in a collaborative laboratory environment. Experience is preferred, but what matters most is your commitment to quality, teamwork, and ensuring every specimen is handled with accuracy and care.
Pay: $17.50 - $23.70 Per Hour DOE
Schedule: Full-time; Monday - Friday 9:30am - 6:30pm

In this role, you will be responsible for:
Specimen processing: Receiving, identifying, labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing or transport while maintaining specimen integrity.
Data management: Accurately entering patient and specimen information into the laboratory information system (LIS) and other required software.
Quality & compliance: Following laboratory procedures, safety standards, HIPAA requirements, and regulatory guidelines while maintaining quality assurance records, temperature logs, maintenance logs, and other required documentation.
Laboratory support: Assisting with inventory management, stocking supplies, sanitizing work areas, filing, answering phones, and other routine non-technical laboratory duties.
Problem solving: Identifying specimen quality, labeling, or order discrepancies and resolving or escalating issues appropriately to ensure timely and accurate testing.
Team collaboration: Working closely with laboratory staff to support workflow efficiency, participate in training and competency assessments, and contribute to a positive, respectful, team-oriented culture.
Reliability: Maintaining consistent, punctual, and dependable attendance to support laboratory operations, turnaround times, and exceptional patient and client service.
Education & Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Washington Medical Assistant-Phlebotomist credential preferred
Experience:
  • Previous experience in a clinical laboratory, pre-analytical specimen processing, or healthcare setting preferred
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Basic computer proficiency with the ability to learn Laboratory Information Systems (LIS/iLIMS)

Physical Requirements:
  • Clinical laboratory environment with automated equipment and routine staff interaction.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color vision test.
  • Regular handling of blood, body fluids, and other potentially infectious materials while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, perform repetitive hand motions, and work at a computer or laboratory workbench.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Flexibility to travel between laboratory sites or rotate shifts as operational needs require.

OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or infectious materials. Employees are required to follow OSHA safety standards and all infection control procedures. Hepatitis-B vaccination is offered to employees performing these duties.
