Job description

Stoughton Health has an excellent opportunity for a Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant to join our Laboratory on a Per-Diem basis.
The Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant is responsible for the collection, preparation, and distribution of clinical specimens. This role involves performing essential laboratory testing, managing specimen records, and providing clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the laboratory. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong ability to work in a fast-paced medical environment.

This position does travel to our off-site locations and may require the use of your own personal vehicle or the company vehicle.

  • Position Requirements:
  • Required: High School Graduate
  • Preferred Education: Graduate from a Phlebotomy program
  • Professional Experience: Requires the ability to perform phlebotomies
  • Licensure: Valid Wisconsin Drivers License
  • Required Certification: Current BLS certification
  • Special Requirements: Prefer one-year of related experience in a Laboratory, medical hospital, or nursing home. Requires reliable transportation and proof of current auto insurance.
  • Computer Competency: Basic Computer Skills are expected for this position. Access email, reference internal websites, access electronic health records, and use online learning tools to remain current with continuing education requirements.
  • Microsoft Office Suite Skills: Beginning Skills – Able to perform basic things such as opening a document, change font, save a document, write a letter.

Work Shift:

  • Per-Diem/Occasional
  • Scheduled Days: Variable Days
  • Scheduled Shift: 5:00am - 1:30pm as needed to cover open shifts for vacation days and illnesses.
