  • High School Diploma or GED preferred, or 2 years of work experience.
  • Demonstrated CRT/computer knowledge and ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.

What You Will Do:

Serves as lead worker for assigned group and provides advanced technical skills necessary to perform accessioning procedures. Perform duties in the preanalytical phase of testing by preparing samples for testing and delivering them to laboratory departments.

  • Accession patient samples into the Laboratory Information System and distribute to technical departments for analysis.
  • Prepare samples for testing, including centrifugation and special handling.
  • Communicate with ordering personnel to clarify test orders and assist with order entry.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of accessioning principles, specimen integrity, and safety standards.
  • Serve as resource for complex cases and assist with training and mentoring staff.
  • Assist with scheduling, inventory management, and orientation checklists for new employees.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
