Job Description:

THIS IS A PRN (AS NEEDED) POSITION THAT SUPPORTS OUR LAB SERVICES TEAM AT OUR ESSEN LANE LOCATION IN BATON ROUGE, LA.

SCOPE: Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, and prepare for processing by the laboratory. Greet and receive all patients in a professional, warm, and efficient manner. Utilizing the laboratory software; register patients into the system for proper specimen processing. Make sure to maximize in-house lab processing.

FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform venipuncture on patients in both a timely and professional manner.
2. Verify lab orders are available and patients are registered.
3. Process specimens for internal and external processing.
4. Management of Lab area


QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Graduate of a phlebotomy training program

Phlebotomy Certification highly preferred

2 years' experience in a lab required; oncology experience preferred.
