What are Lab Assistant Part Time jobs?

Lab Assistant Part Time jobs are positions in which individuals support scientific, medical, or research laboratories on a part-time basis, typically working fewer hours than full-time staff. Responsibilities may include preparing samples, maintaining equipment, recording data, and assisting with experiments under the supervision of senior staff. These roles are common in academic, medical, and industrial labs, and are often ideal for students or those seeking flexible work hours. Part-time lab assistants play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of laboratory activities. Requirements can vary, but basic knowledge of laboratory procedures and safety protocols is usually expected.

What are some common challenges faced by part-time lab assistants and how can they be addressed?

Part-time lab assistants often face the challenge of balancing their work schedule with academic or personal commitments, which can make time management critical. Additionally, learning lab protocols and equipment operation in a limited number of hours can be demanding. Staying organized, communicating proactively with supervisors, and seeking clarification when needed can help address these challenges. Many labs also offer training sessions and encourage teamwork, which supports new assistants in adapting quickly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Lab Assistant Part Time, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Lab Assistant Part Time, you generally need a background in biological or chemical sciences, attention to detail, and at least a high school diploma or relevant coursework. Strong organizational skills, reliability, and effective communication help lab assistants excel in supporting research and maintaining efficient lab operations. These skills and qualifications ensure accurate results, uphold safety standards, and contribute to smooth laboratory workflows.

We'relooking for an experienced, autonomous Physician Assistant to join our clinicalteam part-time, providing primary and episodic care to residents in skillednursing facilities. This is an independent role built around continuity —you'll manage your own panel and build long-term relationships with patientsand their families. New grads welcome!

What'sIn It For You

  • You build your own schedule. Truly flexible part-time — you decide the days and hours that work for you. Keep it consistent once it's set, and the rest is yours.
  • 6-hour shifts. Rounds generally start in the morning (7–10 a.m.). No on-call, no overnights, ever.
  • Chart from home. Wrap up your documentation wherever you want — you're not tied to the facility once your rounds are done.
  • Real earning potential. Productivity-based compensation — the more you see, the more you make.
  • Long-term retention incentive up to $50,000 on top of your pay.
  • Full benefits. W-2 with medical, dental, and vision; 401(k) with match; PTO; short- and long-term disability; employer-paid life insurance.
  • $1,500 annual CME stipend, plus a company iPad and lab coat.
  • Modern tech that gets out of your way. Integrated EHR, voice dictation, and UpToDate® for fast, clean charting.

YourDay-to-Day

You'llsee roughly 16–20 patients a day — a mix of long-term chronic care and acuteissues. That means annual wellness visits and H&Ps, managing chronic andco-morbid conditions, responding to acute changes, reviewing meds and orders, and coordinating with collaborating physicians, specialists, and facility staffto keep care seamless. You'll also stay in touch with families and join careconferences where it makes sense.

Qualifications

  • Board certification required — active and unrestricted.
  • Valid, unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of operation.
  • Master's degree in Physician Assistant with an accredited program.
  • Skilled nursing or long-term care experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong independent clinical judgment and the ability to move quickly in a fast-paced setting.
