Job description

Requirements:

  • Take attendance.
  • Snack preparation and cleanup.
  • Work with students during homework time to ensure all needs are being met on an individualized level.
  • Communicates all needs including supplies, snack,s or staffing conflicts with the Program Director.
  • Communicates with families.
  • Creates a fun and inviting atmosphere.
  • Works with the Program Director in designing clubs that reflect the interests of the students.
  • Responds to the individual needs, interests, and pace of task completion of students.
  • Provides an activity that is engaging to the students.
  • Responsible for clean-up of classroom space at end of activity/day.
  • Acts a positive role model at all times.
  • Arrives to the program on time and prepared for daily responsibilities.
  • Inspires students to improve and maintain grades through a homework lab.
  • Works with students one-on-one or in small groups as needed.
  • Provides students with assistance as needed in completing assignments. Reviews completed assignments for accuracy.
  • Interacts with students in a warm and respectful manner, building motivation and a sense of community within activities.


Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include the ability to work as part of a team, patience, FERPA compliance, general confidentiality, and the ability to work and interact effectively and professionally with a wide variety of individuals.


Working Environment:

Performing the job's functions may require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. May also require assisting students with personal care and medical needs. Generally, the job requires 30% sitting, 30% walking, and 40% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.


Minimum Qualifications:

∙ CPR and first aid certified.

∙ Experience working with school-aged children in a center-based program. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
