Job description

Chemical Lab Operator
Polymer Plant – Spartanburg, SC
Pay: $23.91/hr
Schedule:
  • Primarily Day Shift (7a–7p), 12-hr Day shift mostly with occasional night shift and OT
  • Occasional Night Shift (7p–7a)
  • 4 days on / 4 days off

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct analytical testing using lab instruments and techniques
  • Interpret results and communicate findings to production teams
  • Approve raw materials and finished products based on specifications
  • Maintain accurate records of lab data
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and housekeeping
  • Operate lab equipment safely and efficiently

Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial experience
  • Prior lab experience with equipment, procedures, and testing methods
  • Basic understanding of chemistry and math
  • Familiarity with the metric system
  • Ability to distinguish colors relevant to testing
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining quality standards
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team
  • Proven track record of safety and job performance

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a related field or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand/walk on hard surfaces for extended periods
  • Reach overhead and perform tasks with arms extended
  • Bend, squat, kneel, and lift/move up to 50 lbs
  • Willingness to wear required PPE, including face shield
