MUST have a NY cosmetology license (or be graduating cosmetology school soon) and full time availability.
Soon Beauty Lab is a full service hair salon with two Brooklyn locations (Fort Greene and Carroll Gardens) looking to expand our team of Apprentices.  We’re seeking a friendly, creative individual with a passion for hair and beauty, a drive to further their hairstyling career, a flexible schedule, and both a positive and hardworking attitude!
Our Apprentices take part in our Education Program where they work hands-on with Master stylists and Educators and receive training in cutting, hair color and hair styling. Apprentices also work as assistants and work in tandem with the receptionist to assist the stylists, tend to clients, and make sure the salon operates smoothly on a daily basis. Working as an assistant on the floor and completing the apprentice program can result in furthering your career in hairstyling by earning a spot as a stylist on our salon floor.
Duties include:
-Opening/closing the salon with the receptionists
-Cleaning/Sanitizing color bowls, styling tools, chairs, and products
-Setting up stylists' stations and preparing clients for services
-Assisting stylists in shampooing clients, mixing and applying toners/treatments, blowdrying, etc.
-Laundering and folding capes, towels, and robes
-Helping to clean, sweep, and tidy the salon throughout the day
-Take part in our weekly education program (must have cosmetology license to start classes)
-Train with our receptionists to be proficient in our booking software
