The Basics
Location: Our preferred candidate will be in NC and will live near one of our mills (Statesville or Wilsons Mills). When not visiting customers, you can expect to work from home or at the mill
Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience
Days/Hours: This will be mainly a day shift job but your team and customers will be working off hours, and you will have responsibility to support their needs after-hours.

What you'll be doing:
  • Support new business development including prospecting, product development, and sales execution
  • Assist with customer sales contract negotiation, performance, and risk management
  • Lead company sales and service to support bakery customers
  • Provide exceptional customer service experience with responsive and thorough communication. Field customer service inquiries responsively to ensure exceptional experience
  • Meet with customers on regular basis to ensure quality and service expectations
  • Build and foster genuine customer relationships to support longevity
  • Provide technical support to bakery managers to optimize product selection and performance
  • Communicate flour quality parameters as needed relative to specifications
  • Provide leadership weekly reports on business activities including opportunities and risks
  • Assist transportation team with planning, execution, and problem resolution
  • Assist accounting team with receivables as needed
  • Lead customer response team and follow-ups on performance deviations
  • Monitor and play an active role in ensuring compliance with food manufacturing and food product regulations
  • Effectively communicate sales and service objectives to all levels of the organization
  • Willingness to engage wheat growers on behalf of the sustainability team and ability to learn agronomic basics to assist with this task

Requirements to be successful in this position:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Baking Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • 1-3 years of sales leadership experience preferred
  • 5 years of relevant experience in technical sales or service within food industry
  • Food manufacturing knowledge of processes and operations related to milling and baking industry is preferred
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities
  • Strong analytical skills in the evaluation of situations, priorities and project demands
  • Ability to work well in a team environment promoting Company values
  • Agronomy knowledge a plus

Physical Requirements:
  • This job is not overly physically strenuous
  • You must be able to sit and/or stand and operate lab equipment and to utilize computers
  • Occasionally, you will need to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
  • Able to ascend and descend stairs
  • This job is mainly in a controlled-atmosphere environment, indoors in an office building, but you will have frequent exposure to outdoor and processing areas of facilities
