Jovian Concepts, LLC is looking to hire a Senior Principal Data Flow System Engineer Level 6 for a great opportunity in the Annapolis Junction area.
A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a MD polygraph is required. No CCA's will be accepted at this time.
Description:
The Principal Data Flow Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for designing, integrating, and sustaining enterprise-scale dataflow architectures that support mission-critical analytics across secure cloud and distributed environments. This role oversees high-availability Linux and Cloudera Hadoop infrastructures, develops and maintains end-to-end dataflow solutions using technologies such as Niagara files and XKS, and ensures reliable, secure, and compliant data ingestion, processing, and delivery. The position also leads automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and DevOps initiatives to improve system performance and operational efficiency while coordinating across engineering, operations, analytics, and stakeholder teams to deploy scalable, resilient, and mission-focused dataflow capabilities
Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead the design,integration, and sustainment of complex enterprise dataflow architecturessupporting mission-critical analytics, ensuring reliable ingestion,processing, routing, and delivery across large-scale cloud and distributedenvironments.
  • Manage andoptimize high-availability Linux and Cloudera Hadoop cloudinfrastructures, including virtual machines, storage containers, andenterprise data repositories, to support thousands of secure operationaldataflows.
  • Engineer andmaintain end-to-end dataflow solutions using technologies such asNiagarafiles and XKS, and related processing systems, ensuring schemacompatibility, metadata integrity, and proper data governance throughoutthe lifecycle.
  • Develop andimplement monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation strategies utilizingsystem instrumentation, cron scripting, logging, and operationalmonitoring tools to improve system continuity, performance, and incidentresponse capabilities.
  • Provide technicalleadership for DevOps and Agile/Scrum initiatives, including taskprioritization, workflow modernization, requirements management, andcross-functional coordination to improve operational efficiency and teamperformance.
  • Ensure compliancewith enterprise security, classification, and data handling requirementsby applying deep knowledge of intelligence community governance policies,access controls, and secure data routing methodologies.
  • Coordinate acrossengineering, operations, analytics, and stakeholder organizations todeploy new capabilities, transition systems into production, establishstandard operating procedures, and support enterprise-wide missionobjectives through scalable and resilient dataflow solutions.

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
  • Security ClearanceRequirement: Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Bachelor's degreein a Qualified Engineering Field or related discipline from an accreditedcollege or university with twenty (20) years of systems engineeringexperience. In lieu of a bachelor's degree, candidates may qualify with amaster's degree and eighteen (18) years of experience, a PhD and sixteen(16) years of experience, or twenty-four (24) years of systems engineeringexperience with no degree.

Note 1 - Examples of qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management. Similar or comparable degrees will be acceptable.
Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics. Similar or comparable degrees will be acceptable
