About the Role
The Mobile Core team develops frameworks and tools that empower engineering teams across Twitch to build compelling mobile experiences. In this role, you will directly contribute to creating and refining core features, such as Video Playback, while architecting strategic solutions for internal developers

Twitch is evolving its mobile strategy from native-first to a hybrid approach that leverages React in WebViews alongside native iOS capabilities. You'll work on high-impact initiatives including our hybrid web-to-mobile platform, performance optimization at scale, automated testing infrastructure, and developer tooling that accelerates velocity across the organization.
You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager for Mobile Core iOS and can work from either our Seattle, Irvine, San Francisco or our New York City offices.
You Will
- Own and drive the technical strategy for foundational iOS components, native video playback infrastructure, and hybrid (React in WebView) frameworks
- Architect and build robust WebView infrastructure and bridges that enable seamless integration between React-based web content and native iOS functionality
- Lead performance optimization efforts for platform components used by millions of daily active users, establishing benchmarks and best practices
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to iOS engineers across multiple product teams and within Mobile Core, including onboarding and growing L4/L5 engineers
- Drive cross-organizational architectural decisions that balance developer velocity, app performance, and maintainability, representing Mobile Core's technical perspective in org-wide discussions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and maintain development standards for hybrid mobile applications, influencing adoption across the mobile engineering organization
