Job description

Zact provides modern commercial card, expense management, and integrated payables solutions to financial institutions. Our platform enables banks and processors to launch commercial card programs quickly while integrating with leading issuer processors, payment networks, and banking platforms.
As we continue expanding our partnerships with major financial institutions and processing partners, we are looking for someone who can lead complex processor integration projects from planning through production.
Zact is a remote-first workplace.
Position Summary
We're looking for an experienced payments professional to own the delivery of issuer processor integrations and major implementation projects.
This is not a traditional project management role. The ideal candidate has personally worked with issuer processors, understands how card programs are built, and can confidently coordinate technical teams, processor personnel, bank stakeholders, and payment network participants.
You will become the operational owner of our processor integration initiatives, ensuring projects remain organized, risks are identified early, and implementations are delivered successfully.
Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end implementation of issuer processor integrations.
  • Serve as the primary project manager for processor-related initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities across Zact engineering, product, QA, operations, processors, banks, card networks, and third-party vendors.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestones, dependency tracking, and risk registers.
  • Drive weekly implementation meetings with external partners.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable technical workstreams.
  • Coordinate certification activities with processors and payment networks.
  • Manage implementation documentation, issue logs, decision tracking, and change requests.
  • Identify project risks early and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining strong partner relationships.
  • Assist with implementation planning for new banking partners and processor platforms.
  • Continuously improve Zact's implementation methodology and project management processes.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in electronic payments.
  • 5+ years leading issuer processor implementations or payment platform deployments.
  • Experience working directly with one or more major issuer processors, such as: Fiserv, TSYS, FIS, Marqeta, Galileo, i2c, Paymentology, Episode Six, Enfuce, or other issuer processing platforms.
  • Strong understanding of issuer processing and card program operations.
  • Experience coordinating multiple external organizations on complex implementations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently drive projects with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with one or more of the following:
  • Commercial card programs
  • Virtual cards
  • Expense management platforms
  • Integrated payables
  • Visa and Mastercard certification projects
  • BIN sponsorship programs
  • Banking integrations
  • REST APIs
  • ISO 8583 messaging
  • Settlement and reconciliation
  • Tokenization
  • Mobile wallet provisioning
  • Agile software development
What Makes Someone Successful
The ideal candidate has likely spent time in Professional Services, Client Delivery, Implementations, or Product Delivery at a processor or payments technology company. They understand the operational realities of launching card programs and know how to keep large organizations aligned through complex implementations.
They're comfortable discussing technical concepts with engineers one hour and executive-level project status with bank leadership the next.
Why Join Zact
You'll have the opportunity to shape how modern commercial card programs are delivered to financial institutions. Rather than managing a single implementation, you'll help build the repeatable integration framework that powers future partnerships across multiple processors and banks.
