Job description

** This position is only for those interested in the Inquiry to Practice Program at TriPoint or Lake West Medical Centers - Earn up to 12K in bonuses**
Are you looking to enhance your career in healthcare?
University Hospitals, in partnership with Lakeland Community College and Kent State University -Ashtabula (KSU-A), is offering a new Registered Nurse (RN) Apprenticeship program to obtain the education and skills needed to become a RN at UH Lake West and UH Tripoint Medical Centers.
This program will follow a milestone model where selected candidates will receive tiered bonuses as certain milestones are achieved, earning up to 12K. The candidate will be hired into a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) role with a minimum work commitment of 24hrs every 6-week schedule. Upon successful completion of a RN program at Lakeland Community College or Kent State University - Ashtabula and receipt of RN licensure, the employee will be promoted to a UH Medical-Surgical RN with a 1-year work commitment at UH Lake West or UH Tripoint Medical Centers.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a student enrolled at Lakeland Community College or Kent State University-Ashtabula
  • UH employees must be in good standing and current on all education requirements
  • Must obtain admission to and maintain successful enrollment in the Lakeland Community College or Kent State University-Ashtabula Registered Nurse program and completed programs foundation/fundamental clinical rotation prior to start
  • Must work a minimum of 24 hours per 6-week schedule period
  • Prior direct patient care experience preferred but not required
  • Must have High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS certification must be obtained during UH orientation
