Housekeeper Job Description


Performance Expectations:

  1. Clean rooms as assigned.
  2. Change linens and make the beds.
  3. Thoroughly clean bathrooms.
  4. Sweep, vacuum, dust, mop, and pick up trash.
  5. Replenish guest amenities/toiletries.
  6. Load and organize cart, store properly at the end of each shift.
  7. Receive keys and assigned rooms return at the end of each shift.
  8. Respond to guest requests and report guest issues.
  9. Follow proper lost and found procedures for items left behind in a guest room.
  10. Report any items in need of repair.
  11. Follow all safety procedures while working.

Qualifications:

Education: High School or GED is preferred

Experience: Prior Housekeeping experience is preferred but not required.

Hours Required: Must be able to work holidays and weekends. Hours may vary based on occupancy levels and hotel needs.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to clearly understand and communicate with guests
  • Must be able to complete a minimum of 16 room credits
  • Ability to push, pull, lift minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to push/maneuver cart of up to 250 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, kneel and stretch
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time
  • Free motion of arms, above waist
