Description

The Senior Manager of Mail Operations will lead and oversee all aspects of mail operations, managing a large (+140), hourly workforce with support from supervisory staff and team leads. This is a HANDS-ON and ON-THE-FLOOR role that ensures operational excellence, staff development, and process optimization across the site, serving as a key strategic leader in daily operations and long-term site performance. The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with the Site Manager and other leadership to drive efficiency, safety, quality, and compliance, while supporting the growth and development of the team.


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage mail operations staff, ensuring coverage, labor efficiency, and adherence to operational standards.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor supervisors and associates to build a high-performing team capable of meeting current and future operational demands.
  • Plan, implement, and optimize daily operations, including production schedules, sort configurations, and staffing levels.
  • Collaborate with logistics, transportation, and USPS departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Monitor and report on operational metrics, KPIs, and compliance requirements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions or training programs as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and company standards, including OSHA, HIPAA, PHI, HITECH, and data security.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and employee engagement.
  • Support positive workplace culture by fostering collaboration, recognizing achievements, and maintaining high employee morale.
  • Secure facilities, manage daily close-out procedures, and address maintenance or sanitation issues promptly.
  • Other duties assigned to ensure smooth operations and strategic objectives are met.

Requirements
