Job description

A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Pharmacist to support its inpatient behavioral health unit in Council Bluffs, IA. This contract position begins May 18 and will continue until a permanent hire is placed. The schedule includes weekend shifts on Saturday and Sunday, working 6 hours per day.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pharmaceutical care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health setting
  • Utilize automated systems for drug repackaging and inventory management
  • Perform drug loading in automated dispensing machines and run restock reports regularly
  • Ensure medication safety and accuracy in dispensing
Desired Qualifications:
  • Current Iowa Pharmacist license is required
  • Experience with Omnicell automated dispensing system highly preferred
  • Familiarity with repackaging medications using Milt, Medi-dose, or HCL systems
  • Basic knowledge of automated machine operations and inventory restocking procedures
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
Location: Council Bluffs, IA - inpatient behavioral health facility
Shift/Hours:
  • Saturday and Sunday, 6 hours per day
