PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Sales Operations Manager leads the Inside Sales Representative Team, ensuring efficient processes and customer satisfaction. This role provides leadership, coaching, and direction for the ISR team while focusing on optimizing workflows, improving quote response times, and reducing errors. By leveraging data insights and business systems the Sales Operations Manager aligns operations with company goals, drives continuous improvement, develops and empowers team members to perform at their best, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and customer focus while supporting PPI's growth and customer service objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

More specifically, the employee owner will:

  • Lead the Team: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Sales Operations team, ensuring efficient workflows, effective workload balancing, operational continuity, collaboration, and customer satisfaction.
  • Strategic Leadership: Implement strategies to drive team performance in alignment with department goals, focusing on enhancing the customer experience, reducing errors, and improving quote response time.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly review team and individual performance through established metrics and KPIs. Provide feedback, support, and opportunities for growth and development. Implement and oversee an incentive, recognition, and reward program.
  • CRM Integration: Serve as the business owner for CRM and other sales operations systems, ensuring they are effectively utilized to improve workflows, customer interactions, reporting, and operational efficiency. Partner with IT and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for future enhancements
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Utilize data from the CRM and other internal systems to measure progress, track performance, support decision-making and drive continuous improvement in sales processes and customer interactions.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments, including engineering, outside sales, product management, purchasing, and manufacturing, to resolve issues, address customer needs, and improve overall efficiency.
  • Training and Development: Design and ensure delivery of training programs to enhance the skills of team members, particularly in areas related to quoting, upselling, product knowledge, and customer relationship management. Develop a career development program to ensure we always have team members prepared to take on new challenges. Foster an environment of continuous learning.
  • Department Planning and Succession Planning: Maintain appropriate staffing levels by developing a formalized succession plan, ensuring bench strength, and proactively preparing for team member transitions resulting from planned or unplanned absences/departures, while focusing on career development to cultivate internal talent.
  • Employee Empowerment and Support: Foster a supportive environment where team members are empowered to take ownership of their roles. Encourage open communication, provide the necessary resources, and create opportunities for professional development to ensure high levels of engagement and job satisfaction.

EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree (B.A) from a four-year college or;
  • 5+ years related experiences and/or training; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience in sales, customer service, manufacturing, or related field.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, coaching, training, or team development is highly desirable,
  • Experience utilizing DRM systems, ERP systems, Microsoft Office Applications, and other business software to improve operational performance is preferred.
