Job description

A Visionary Engineering for Combat Technology and Rapid-Response (VECTR) Configuration Manger is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and maintaining configuration management and data management processes, procedures, and controls in support of organizational, programmatic, and mission requirements. The incumbent ensures the integrity, traceability, accountability, and accessibility of technical, programmatic, and administrative data throughout the lifecycle of assigned systems, projects, or programs. The position also provides flexible support for related operational, analytical, administrative, or program support duties as assigned to meet changing mission requirements.

Develops, implements, and maintains configuration management and data management policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Establishes, administers and maintains processes for document control, version control, change management, records tracking, and status accounting.

Maintains configuration baselines for systems, hardware, software, technical documentation, and associated program records.

Reviews engineering, technical, contractual, and program documentation for completeness, accuracy, compliance, and proper configuration identification.

Coordinates configuration control boards, change review meetings, and related decision documentation.

Tracks engineering changes, deviations, waivers, action items, and approvals to ensure timely processing and audit readiness.

Manages repositories, databases, libraries, and filing systems used to store, retrieve, and safeguard controlled data and records.

Ensures data is organized, current, accessible to authorized users, and protected in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and security requirements.

Supports internal and external audits, inspections, data calls, and program reviews by preparing records, reports, metrics, and status updates.

Interfaces with program managers, engineers, logisticians, contracting personnel, cybersecurity staff, and other stakeholders to ensure configuration and data management requirements are integrated across functional areas.

Identifies process improvement opportunities and recommends corrective actions to improve efficiency, compliance, and data quality.

Performs a variety of related programs, project, administrative, analytical, or operational support duties consistent with management direction, employee qualifications, and mission needs.

Carries out other duties as assigned.

Skill in using automated systems, databases, spreadsheets, document repositories, and collaboration tools. Ability to analyze documentation, identify discrepancies, maintain detailed records, communicate effectively, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity with government or contractor environments.
  • Experience using document control systems, shared repositories, spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and adapt to changing priorities.
