Job Summary

Manages communications security (COMSEC) operations by overseeing encryption systems, secure communications equipment, and classified materials. Responsible for ensuring full accountability, proper handling, and compliance of all COMSEC assets while supporting mission-critical operations in a secure defense environment. Also provides administrative and personnel security support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages and oversees COMSEC (communications security) operations and assets
  • Ensures accountability and control of all classified equipment and materials
  • Installs, configures, and secures network encryption devices
  • Manages encryption keys and loads cryptographic equipment for mission support
  • Performs firmware updates and maintenance on crypto systems
  • Maintains inventory and accounting records for COMSEC assets using secure systems
  • Investigates and reports security incidents, violations, or compromises
  • Coordinates with government agencies regarding security clearances and requirements
  • Issues security badges and maintains related logs and records
  • Schedules and conducts security briefings and training sessions
  • Provides guidance and direction to administrative/security staff
  • Ensures compliance with DoD security regulations and standards
Minimum Requirements
  • Associate degree or equivalent military/technical training
  • Significant experience in COMSEC, security operations, or related fields
  • Strong knowledge of NISPOM, SAP, SCI, and DoD security regulations
  • Experience with encryption devices, cryptographic systems, and key management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret security clearance
  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM)
