Job description

Our Construction Equipment group is seeking an Operations Manager for our Burton, MI branch. An Operations Manager’s role is to oversee all aspects of the parts, service, rentals and sales departments as well as daily branch operations.

 COMPUTER SKILLS

This position requires working knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Business Intelligence (BI), Crystal Reports, Fleetmatics, PayTrace, Concur and Extend.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel to job sites is required for this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Oversee all aspects of Branch Operations including all departments. 
  • Drive business to meet forecasted goals while adding growth. 
  • P&L for the entire branch.  
  • Employee and customer relations 
  • Monitor building condition. 
  • Inventory control. 
  • Fluent in the operations of the Rental, Parts and Service department in order to cover for any staff that may be off 
  • Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities. 
  • Incorporating Safety into daily activities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
  • Branch Budget development. 
  • Rental Fleet optimization, work closely with Regional Director Rental  
  • CapEx building upgrade budgets. 
  • Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time. 

Qualifications  

  • A minimum of 4-6 years of management experience 
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred. 
  • Dealership experience is highly preferred. 
  • Ability to effectively lead others. 
  • Time management skills. 
  • Computer Skills - Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Business Intelligence (BI); Crystal Reports, Fleetmatics, PayTrace, Concur, Extend 
  • Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization. 
  • Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. 
  • Reasoning Ability - High: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will talk/hear; Frequently will stand, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms; Occasionally will walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
