We are looking for a Field Operations Supervisor to lead site-level operations, drive performance, and build high-performing teams. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and is passionate about safety, quality, and operational excellence.

WhatYou'llDo:

This roleis responsible foroverseeing daily railcar repair operations while leading a skilled workforce and ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

On any given day, you will:

  • Lead site operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity

  • Conduct daily site walks tomonitorwork progress,identifyrisks, and ensure compliance

  • Drive performance against key metrics including turnaround time, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction

  • Manage staffing through recruitment, scheduling, training, and workforce planning

  • Facilitate daily team huddles (toolbox talks) to align on safety and production goals

  • Ensureaccurateandtimelyrepair tracking, reporting, and customer updates

  • Monitor and reportKPIsincluding productivity, turnaround, and cost metrics

  • Participate in and support safety and quality audits

  • Oversee billing accuracy andtimelycompletion

  • Support employee development, onboarding, and training initiatives

  • Lead and reinforce continuous improvement and visual management practices

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Previoussupervisory or leadership experience

  • Strong knowledge of safety practices and quality standards

  • Experience working withKPIs, reporting, and operational metrics

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree or some college

  • Experience in railcar repair, manufacturing, or industrial environments

  • Background in multi-site or customer-facing operations

  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Directly manages site employees and daily operations

  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and employee development

  • Leads disciplinary actions and conflict resolutionin accordance withcompany policies

Work Environment:

  • Combination of field and office-based work

  • Regular time spent in a railcar repair facility environment

  • Exposure to industrial conditions (noise, weather, equipment movement)

  • Physical activity including walking, climbing, and light lifting

  • May require extended hours based on operational needs

  • Location:Decatur, IL

  • Shift:6:30AM - 3:00 PM M-F

  • Compensation:Base Salary: $78,000-81,500
