Job description

Shift: Monday - Friday 4:30am - 1pm or until the work is completed

Anticipated salary range: $86,4000 - $123,400 per year

What Operations Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Operations Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Operations function.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field o r equivalent experience preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of inbound logistics, inventory control, and quality systems.

  • Experience using WMS/ERP systems.

  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive operational improvements.

Preferred

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement certification or equivalent .

  • Strong data analysis and KPI management skills.

What is expected of you and others at this level

  • Inbound Operations

  • Manage all inbound receiving activities, including scheduling, unloading, verification, and system transactions.

  • Ensure accurate receipt of materials against purchase orders and shipping documentation.

  • Optimize dock operations to meet throughput, labor, and safety targets.

  • Coordinate with Procurement, Transportation, and Planning teams to resolve inbound issues.

  • Monitor KPIs such as dock-to-stock time, receiving accuracy, and labor efficiency. Quality Control

  • Lead quality inspection processes for inbound materials, components, and finished goods.

  • Establish, maintain, and enforce quality standards, inspection procedures, and work instructions.

  • Identify, document, and disposition non-conforming materials (quarantine, rework, return, scrap).

  • Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

  • Partner with suppliers and internal teams to drive quality improvements and reduce defects. Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise, train, and develop inbound and quality control team members.

  • Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular coaching and performance reviews.

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, OSHA requirements, and company procedures.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with internal SOPs, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.

  • Support internal and external audits as required.

  • Assist in the development and monitoring of standard work and performance metrics.
