Job description


Job Title: Operations Manager – Dirt Dog Manufacturing

Wage Range: Exempt

Department: Manufacturing

Reports to: COO


The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing plant operations, across all shifts in the Dirt Dog – Commerce, GA Plant, with the aim of maximizing resources to produce quality tractor and skid steer attachments on time, and at the lowest cost. The functional departments reporting to this position include all manufacturing departments, procurement, order entry, shipping and production Control. This Leader should have a very hands-on focus of driving safety, team-work and overall efficiencies throughout the manufacturing operations. This leader will also ensure that the plant successfully meets operational targets, business goals and objectives, and complies with all CEG standards. This leader will collaborate with the other plant functions to support other operational needs as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. (Other duties may be assigned):

• Lead and coach the operations organization to act cohesively towards company goals and expectations. A present and active leader on the shop floor building rapport with the team and driving continuous improvement initiatives. A leader who drives culture.

• Lead the Production scheduling, planning, and execution team in a make to order/ job shop production environment.

• Implement tools, concepts and attributes of lean manufacturing.

• Lead the scale up of manufacturing and maximize facility space to meet capacity requirements.

• Understand process engineering and production concepts, process flow, fixturing, tooling etc., in order to impact and improve efficiency, productivity and throughput.

• Increase production, capacity, and quality, through hands on, positive leadership and motivation and clear communication.

• Drive initiatives that contribute to long-term operational goals.

• Establish and communicate performance measures and results.

• Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and technology, and information systems. (Global Shop or Syspro a plus).

• Be proficient with Inventory tracking and reduction techniques, Supply Chain optimization, Facilities, Plant and Equipment Maintenance.

• Supervise personnel which typically include coaching, mentoring as well as hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution.

• Assures that all OSHA, EPD, Right to Know and MSDS regulations are complied with, and that safety is stressed and emphasized to all employees.

• Strives for conformance to an ISO like Quality Management System throughout the organization.

Education and/or Experience:

• This position requires excellent communication, planning, and problem-solving skills. Candidate should be detail and people oriented and have strong interpersonal skills.

• Candidates must be highly motivated and be able to perform in a dynamic environment. Ability to motivate and lead at all levels of the organization.

• 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role in a metric driven manufacturing environment at Manager level.

• Must have proven decision-making and communication skills, be responsible, mature, flexible, and have management experience.

• Self-starter and ability to work independently and in a team setting

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Operations Management strongly recommended.
