Job description

  • Contribute to global delivery of cheminformatics and broader discovery informatics platforms for the Innovative Medicine research organization
  • Define, evaluate, implement, and champion data-driven and scientific IT approaches across discovery sciences globally
  • Identify opportunities to modernize chemistry-centric decision-making through advanced digital capabilities
  • Lead and support portfolio strategy by identifying gaps, overlaps, retirement opportunities, and performance improvements
  • Define project goals, manage risks and budgets, and ensure measurable impact through execution and post-project evaluations
  • Evaluate business processes, identify requirements, and develop change strategies to improve information systems and stakeholder outcomes
  • Support global deployment of AI and machine learning capabilities for molecular invention, AI-enabled search, agent capabilities, workflow automation, and alert-based notifications
  • Apply data governance, data quality, data integration, and lifecycle management principles
  • Support technology adoption and change management across teams and organizational levels

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Chemistry or a relevant life science or data science field

  • Strong exposure to small molecule, peptide, and large molecule chemistry research
  • Experience partnering with scientific stakeholders, technology teams, and cross-functional partners to define requirements and deliver informatics or scientific IT solutions
  • Database management knowledge sufficient to engage with cheminformatics teams, architects, and external vendors across multiple applications
  • Strong technical expertise supporting solution design and implementation
  • Experience with pipelining applications such as KNIME or Pipeline Pilot
  • Experience with commercial chemistry software such as Schrödinger, BIOVIA, Revvity, OpenEye, ChemAxon, or similar platforms
  • Experience with open-source chemistry or cheminformatics applications such as RDKit or Oligokit
  • Experience with data visualization and analytics tools such as Spotfire
  • Knowledge of data warehouses and ETL
