Description
The Kitchen Manager leads back-of-house operations with a focus on food quality, cleanliness, team development, and guest satisfaction. This role ensures execution of Crazy Good Mexican Food™ while maintaining high standards in food preparation, inventory, safety, and sanitation.
Responsibilities include managing BOH scheduling, food and supply ordering, inventory control, and cost of goods management. The Kitchen Manager trains and coaches staff, ensures a clean and organized kitchen, and leads successful shifts using restaurant systems and tools. This role plays a key part in upholding compliance with health, safety, and food service regulations while helping meet restaurant profitability goals.
All Kitchen Managers complete training at the Jalapeño Tree in Tyler, TX before transitioning to their assigned location.
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager or successful Assistant Manager in a full-service restaurant
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of food and beverage laws and health regulations

Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage inventory, food safety, and BOH labor schedules
  • Proficiency in POS and restaurant systems (Aloha, Microsoft Office, Compeat)
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and cost control awareness

Physical Requirements:
  • Able to stand for prolonged periods, move quickly, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs

  • Must be available for 50-55 hours per week, including holidays and weekends
