Job description

Estimator for a Remodeling Contractor

Key Responsibilities Cost Calculation

  • Calculate total costs for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Analyze project documents such as blueprints and specifications to prepare detailed estimates.

Supplier and Subcontractor Coordination

  • Gather quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to inform cost estimates.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to secure the best deals.
  • Seek out appropriate vendors as needed for newly requested products

Project Monitoring

  • Monitor ongoing project costs and adjust estimates as necessary to account for changes in scope or market conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with budget of subcontractors and suppliers’ invoices

Required Skills and Qualifications

Skill/Qualification Description

Education: High School Diploma-Skills and knowledge in Construction Management.

Experience: Previous experience in construction estimating is preferred, understanding and reading Blueprints.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CoConstruct, Bluebeam, ProEst).

Mathematical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate calculations.

Attention to Detail: Ability to identify discrepancies in project documents.

The Estimator will maintain working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
