What is a kitchen bath sales?

A Kitchen Bath Sales job involves helping customers design and purchase kitchen and bathroom products, such as cabinets, countertops, fixtures, and appliances. Sales professionals work with clients to understand their needs, provide product recommendations, and create design solutions that fit their budget and style. They may collaborate with contractors, designers, and suppliers to ensure a smooth purchasing and installation process. Strong customer service, product knowledge, and sales skills are essential for success in this role.

What does a kitchen bath sales do?

In a typical day, a Kitchen Bath Sales professional greets customers, consults with them to understand their remodeling needs, and recommends appropriate products and design solutions. You might create or review design layouts, generate quotes, and coordinate with suppliers, installers, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution. The role involves a mix of customer-facing interactions, design consultation, and administrative tasks, usually within a showroom or retail environment. Success often comes from balancing excellent customer service with detailed product knowledge and effective project management. Collaboration with other sales staff and design professionals is common, providing support and keeping projects on track.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in kitchen bath sales?

To thrive as a Kitchen Bath Sales professional, you need a background in sales, an understanding of kitchen and bath products, and ideally experience in home improvement or interior design. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, design software (like 20-20 Design or AutoCAD), and industry certifications such as AKBD (Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer) can be valuable. Outstanding interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to listen carefully to client needs help you excel. These skills ensure you can guide customers effectively, create functional and attractive designs, and drive sales in a competitive retail or showroom environment.

Job description

Kitchen & Bath Sales Representative (1099 Independent Contractor)

LMG Kitchen & Bath — Deer Park, NY

LMG Kitchen & Bath is looking for driven, self-motivated sales professionals to join us as independent contractor sales reps. Build your own book of business selling kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, countertops, and stone products to homeowners and trade professionals — with the freedom to set your own schedule and the support of an established showroom and approved vendor network.

What You'll Do

  • Source and develop your own client relationships
  • Measure and document job sites, take photos, and create layout designs
  • Guide customers through style and color selection
  • Generate itemized order forms and invoices, with final say on customer pricing
  • Collect full customer payment and submit completed orders for approval
  • Communicate order timelines and follow up on delivery day
  • For countertop projects: confirm measurements/design and approve after fabrication templating

What We Offer

  • Uncapped commission structure — set your own prices above company delivered cost and keep the difference
  • Complete schedule freedom — no required office hours
  • Open showroom access during business hours to meet clients and view samples
  • Access to an established network of company-approved cabinet, vanity, and stone vendors

What You'll Need

  • Must operate as an independent contractor through your own LLC
  • Your own computer and design software
  • A clean, professional appearance when meeting clients or working from the showroom
  • Strong self-direction — this role rewards people who can generate and close their own business

Important Notes

  • This is a 1099 independent contractor position, not an employee role
  • All sales go through company-approved product lines
