Description: PharmcareUSA in West Chester, OH is seeking a Pharmacy Technician!
Pay is commensurate with experience in LTC
BENEFITS: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, Life Insurance, FSA/HSA and PTO available for Full Time employees.
The Pharmacy Technician must be certified in those states where a certification is required, and may be certified in states that do not require certification. The Technician will assist the pharmacist in providing safe and appropriate pharmacy services to PharmcareUSA clients in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Company, current pharmacy practice standards and other regulatory entities. Reports to Lead Pharmacy Tech and/or Director of Pharmacy.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist Pharmacist with input (when appropriate), filling and dispensing of all prescriptions
  • Perform all filling and / or IV compounding of prescriptions with accuracy and reasonable speed
  • Fill prescriptions per rules and regulations of all regulatory entities
  • Answer telephone calls, assist caller when appropriate, or enlist Pharmacist to assist if appropriate
  • Prepare medications to be delivered to facility per delivery schedule
  • Assist any walk-in customers or direct to appropriate department
  • Assist with ordering of medications from wholesaler along with proper inventory management
  • Assist with Medication Returns and E-Kit management
  • Maintain Pharmacy Technician License/Certification
  • Will comply with all Corporate Initiatives and utilize provided tools/resources as appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

Must be able to routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment such as calculators, copy machines and printers up to 100% of the time; Regularly required to talk and hear in order to communicate effectively over the phone and in person; Must be able to see 100% of the time to recognize medications, detect inaccuracies, and observe the work of others with or without correction; This position is very active and requires standing for long periods, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching and stooping; Must be able to lift and/or transport materials weighing up to 25 pounds, up to 10% of the time; Must be able to tolerate normal office/pharmacy environment and exposure to various medications.
