Your Opportunity: Taylor Corporation is seeking a Kit Packaging Engineer. The Kit Packaging Engineer is responsible for designing efficient, safe, and cost-effective packaging solutions for kit-based products while developing accurate labor and build-time estimates. This role combines engineering principles, process optimization, and data-driven estimating to ensure kits are assembled efficiently, meet quality standards, and arrive safely to customers.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Designs packaging and/or displays to ensure integrity and appeal under varying shipping and display conditions.
  • Develop packaging configurations based on product size, fragility, weight, and shipping requirements.
  • Tests, analyzes, and selects materials for packaging based on durability and cost effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in packaging operations, leading initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Create packaging instructions, specifications, and standardized work documentation.
  • Validate packaging performance through testing (drop tests, compression, etc.).
  • Develop accurate time and cost estimates for kit assembly based on data.
  • Partner with operations and leadership to support pricing, quoting, and planning activities.
  • Ensure all packaging designs comply with relevant regulations and industry standards, including safety and environmental guidelines.

You Must Have:
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Excel (modeling, data analysis) and/or estimating software
  • Knowledge of packaging materials and shipping requirements
  • Detail-oriented, innovative, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

We Would Also Prefer:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Artios Cad) and packaging design tools
  • Experience in kitting, fulfillment, or print manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of ERP systems

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $75,000-95,000. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The range listed is just one component of Taylor Corporation's total compensation and benefits package for employees.
