Job description

We are looking for a Senior Visual Experience Designer to join the Kiro Design team, focused on our product and marketing experiences. In this role, you will develop and deliver complex visual design solutions that define how developers interact with agentic AI, from spec-driven workflows and parallel agent orchestration to code correctness feedback and multi-model interfaces.
As a Senior VXD on Kiro, you will establish visual language and evolve UI patterns that scale across Kiro's surfaces (IDE, Desktop, CLI, Web, Mobile), concept expressive hero features, and enable other UX designers and engineers to deliver high-quality developer experiences more efficiently.

You will tackle problems with significant ambiguity and your output will be strongly connected to Kiro's long-term product strategy and organizational goals.
Key job responsibilities
- Define and evolve Kiro's visual language: Establish UI systems, interaction patterns, and visual expression for agentic AI concepts that scale across IDE, Desktop, CLI, Web, and Mobile surfaces
- Deliver complex visual design solutions: Work both tactically and strategically on Kiro's client experiences, conceiving hero features and driving them to pixel-perfect production with engineering partners
- Art direct motion, illustration, and animation: Bring agentic capabilities to life within developer workflows through micro-interactions that communicate system state and agent activity
- Drive cross-surface and cross-team coherence: Collaborate with teams to ship unified visual standards, making trade-offs between rapid iteration and scalable systems
- Present and advocate to senior leadership: Regularly communicate creative strategy and the "why" behind visual decisions to stakeholders up to 3 levels above, putting solutions in context of Kiro's business goals and developer needs
- Mentor designers and multiply team output: Actively develop other designers, contribute to the Kiro design system, and drive studio standards that enable rapid prototyping and consistent delivery across teams
About the team
You'll join a dynamic, growing UX team within the AWS Agentic organization that supports each other's development and is passionate about creating exceptional developer experiences. Our team includes designers and researchers across the Kiro product suite.

We offer mentorship, autonomy, and opportunities to contribute to our collaborative culture while working on some of the most exciting challenges in developer tools and AI-assisted development.
