Job description

Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company's portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross' Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the ADR Maintenance Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of all ADR equipment.

Essential Functions

1.  Meets or exceeds established performance expectations set by management.
2.  Consistently exercises discretion and judgment in job performance.
3.  Helps develop other department personnel to perform duties listed above.
4.  Perform other related functions as assigned by supervisor.
5.  Troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of all related ADR equipment.
6.  Work in cooperation with the ADR operations group and the ADR technical services group to execute general ADR maintenance, capital and construction projects.
7.  Respond to equipment emergencies on a 24 hour basis as required.

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

1.  Comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions.
2.  Demonstrate basic knowledge in mechanical and hydraulic equipment inspection and repair.
3.  Demonstrate good housekeeping practices.
4.  Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills. 
5.  Ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
6.  Must be able to carry out daily work assignments with a minimum of supervision. 
7.  Must be able to have maintenance completed on a timely basis.
8.  Must be able to prepare pertinent documentation and records for all work performed. 
9.  Trade School degree is preferred.
10.  Previous experience with JDE preferred.
11.  Two years of fixed plant maintenance experience preferred.
12.  Must be able to disassemble & reassemble a diaphragm, rotary gear and the wet end of a centrifugal pump. Demonstrate straight edge alignment of a direct drive pump.
13.  Must be able to complete basic welding tasks. Demonstrate ability to use measurement tools (dial indicator, dial caliper, feeler gauges, & machinist ruler). Identify and read a bolt torque and drill & tap chart. Operate overhead cranes. Proper sheave alignment and drive belt tensioning.
14.  Replace broken lines (HDPE, Steel, or Rubber lined). Repair or replace valves and clamps.
15.  Requires valid driver's license.
