About 805 Connects: 805 Connects provides exceptional social recreation services to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities throughout Ventura County. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for our clients by promoting independence, social skills, and community integration through engaging activities and supportive care.

Position Overview: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Activity Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating social recreational activities, coordinating transportation, and providing direct support to persons served during the activities. This role requires strong organizational skills, a caring attitude, and a commitment to improving the lives of adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate and lead social recreational activities as scheduled, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for the people served. 

• Coordinate transportation for people served to and from activities and events. 

• Assist in scheduling and planning activities that promote social interaction, skill development, and community integration. 

• Provide direct support during activities. 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of persons served activities, progress, and incidents. 

• Communicate effectively with people served, families, and other team members to ensure cohesive support. 

• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. 

• Foster and maintain partnerships with local businesses, organizations, and community groups to enhance the variety and appeal of activities offered. 

• Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during activities or events, ensuring safety and satisfaction 

• Ensure inclusivity and engagement through a diverse range of activities and events tailored to the interest and abilities of the target audience. 

• Promote effective team building, through strong interpersonal skills, communication and organizational skills. 

• Ability to exercise judgment and promote a safe environment through leadership for persons served and staff.

Qualifications: 

• Must be 18 years or older. 

• Valid California Driver's License, valid car insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle. 

• Ability to pass a DOJ background check and drug screening (California Law). 

• Strong organizational and time management skills. 

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Previous experience working with individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities through being a caregiver or support staff (DSP) is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions: 

• This position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. 

• Physical activities may include bending and standing for extended periods. 

• Travel throughout Ventura County is required.
