The Goddard School is seeking a School Cook to manage our daily culinary operations. You will be responsible for planning and preparing nutritious, kid-friendly meals while maintaining a high standard of kitchen safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate blends culinary expertise with strong organizational skills to manage inventory and meet all regulatory requirements.
 
Core Responsibilities:
  1. Menu & Nutrition: Develop and execute weekly menus that meet nutritional guidelines and licensing requirements. Modify recipes to accommodate specific dietary restrictions.
  2. Kitchen Operations: Prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks using established recipes. Ensure portion sizes are age-appropriate to promote healthy habits and minimize waste.
  3. Compliance & Safety: Maintain a "Health Department Ready" kitchen at all times. Adhere to all state licensing, sanitation, and food handling protocols. Maintain precise temperature logs for food and refrigeration.
  4. Grocery Order and Pickups: Coordinate and execute the physical pickup of groceries and kitchen supplies from local vendors. Ensure all items are transported safely, maintaining the cold chain for perishable goods.
  5. Inventory & Budget: Manage food and kitchen supply stock, ordering items as needed while staying within the established budget.
  6. Documentation: Maintain precise records of food temperatures, inventory usage, and expense reports.
  7. Maintenance: Execute a daily and weekly deep-cleaning schedule for all kitchen equipment and surfaces. Report any equipment malfunctions immediately to management.
Requirements:
  1. Experience in high-volume food preparation, preferably in a dynamic childcare or school setting.
  2. Current Food Handlerโ€™s or ServSafe Certification.
  3. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  4. Knowledge of state licensing requirements and nutritional standards.
