While this title generally refers to group fitness trainers, you can also work as a trainer or coach for a sport like Muay Thai. These jobs have very different responsibilities. The minimum qualifications usually include holding a personal trainer or group exercise certification, but many employers expect you to have additional kickboxing certification from a regulated body. You may teach one to three classes a day, so you need excellent physical stamina. You also need a strong knowledge of anatomy and first aid and CPR skills.
