SUMMARY:

Sun City Anthem Community Association, Inc. (SCA) is an active, 55+ community with over 13,000 residents located in Henderson, Nevada. SCA is looking for Certified Aqua Zumba Group Fitness Instructors to serve the community and provide enhanced fitness services. This is a perfect gig for individuals looking to grow and increase their experience across every level of fitness clientele.  Aqua Group Fitness Instructors are expected to perform exciting, safe programming for classes and are responsible for ensuring that their class members perform appropriate exercises safely and within their scope of ability.  

Compensation is based on a contractual agreement and is reported as a 1099 event at the end of the year.

 COMPENSATION:  

  • Contract work
  • The standard rate per class is $45 for a 55-minute class and $22.50 for a 25-minute class.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current Group Fitness Instructor certification from a nationally accredited agency such as ACE, AFAA, ACSM, NASM, NSCA required
  • Certifications in Aqua Fitness and/or Aqua Zumba required
  • Current CPR/AED/First-Aid certification required 
  • Specialization in Functional Aging or Senior Fitness is a plus

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Independent Contractors are required to provide and maintain the following: 
    • City of Henderson Business License
    • Signed W-9
    • Current Liability Insurance with a minimum of $1M per occurrence and Sun City Anthem Community Association, Inc. listed as additional insured
    • Affidavit of rejection of worker’s compensation insurance
    • All relevant certifications and required CEUs
  • Independent Contractor is required to comply with established safe work practices as provided by the company.
  • Ability to tailor fitness class programming to fit the needs of the 55+ clientele
  • Ability to properly demonstrate physical movement and the use of equipment used for fitness classes including bands, balls, hand weights, etc.
  • Superior customer service skills (internal and external) and patience, with an emphasis on service
  • Ability to walk inside, outside and upstairs/downstairs without assistance
  • Ability to sit, stand, stoop, kneel, push, shove, lift, carry and move objects that can weigh up to 50 pounds
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to focus on clients and their safety
  • Keen awareness of body mechanics and functions with the ability to correct movements effectively
  • Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that communication may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities
  • Must be able to professionally interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented and have good reasoning skills
  • Group Fitness is primarily performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment
