Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Experience: auto parts department: 1 year (Required)

Dealership: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)

Work Location: In person

Job description:

Destination Kia in Albany, NY is seeking a full-time Parts Counterperson to join our team... Compensation is a combination of a weekly salary and monthly bonus. This is a great opportunity to work in a busy parts department of a family-owned business, with plenty of room for growth.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assisting customers and technicians in the selection of required parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Informing customer and selling companion part requirements and specials.
  • Answering phone calls to provide quotes and customer inquiries.
  • Assists outside sales representatives with their orders.
  • Setting up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up with a a great degree of accuracy..
  • Verifies will-call and back-order files weekly and returns to vendors, or stocks those items not picked up or required.
  • Replenishing and tracking inventory.
  • Issues and tracks requested shop tools to technicians.
  • Makes sure all internal requests for parts are billed on service repair order.
  • Keeping current on new products and product updates.
  • Keeps orderly records of all repair orders, invoices, insurance estimates, and special-order parts.
  • Participates with the parts manager in maintaining a lost sales tracking program.


Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an automotive parts department 
  • 1-3 years of sales experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills and great telephone etiquette
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Detail Orientated, able to Read and Enter codes into the Computer
  • Proficient in Automotive/Parts Software systems is highly desired.
