Job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented Kia Parts Counterperson to join our Kia Parts Department. The Kia Parts Counterperson is responsible for assisting retail, wholesale, and internal customers with identifying and purchasing automotive parts and accessories. This position will provide knowledgeable and professional customer service, accurately identify and order Kia parts, maintain accurate inventory, process parts sales, and assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient Parts Department.
Job Responsibilities
• Assist retail, wholesale, and dealership customers with identifying and purchasing Kia automotive parts and accessories.
• Accurately identify required parts using Kia parts catalogs, electronic parts systems, VIN information, and other available resources.
• Answer customer inquiries regarding parts availability, pricing, compatibility, and estimated delivery times.
• Coordinate with Service Advisors and Technicians to identify and obtain parts needed for repair orders.
• Check parts availability and place orders with Kia, vendors, and other suppliers as needed.
• Receive and verify incoming parts shipments for accuracy, quantity, and condition.
• Assist with stocking and organizing parts in their designated locations.
• Maintain accurate parts inventory and assist with regular inventory counts and reconciliation
• Properly identify and organize special-order, returned, and core parts.
• Process parts returns and warranty-related parts in accordance with dealership and Kia manufacturer procedures.
• Communicate parts delays, backorders, incorrect parts, or damaged merchandise promptly to the appropriate department.
• Maintain accurate records of parts orders, sales, returns, and special orders.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent the dealership positively when interacting with customers, vendors, and dealership personnel.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe Parts Department, including shelves, counters, storage areas, and workspaces.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Parts Manager or dealership management.
Requirements
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous automotive parts, dealership, warehouse, customer service, or related experience preferred.
• Knowledge of automotive parts and basic vehicle systems preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently while also supporting the Parts Department and Service Department teams.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn dealership parts and inventory software.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the Parts Department during the workday.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move automotive parts and other items as required.
• Ability to work around automotive service equipment, parts, and dealership vehicles.
